Your Checklist

Type your name, username and bio above. Each of the 8 checks turns green as you pass it.

How the Score Works

8 checks add up to 100 points. The first 3 carry 60 of them, because those are the words Instagram matches against someone’s search.

Extra Tips

These do not affect your score, but they are worth doing.

  • If you serve a place, add your city to your name or bio. People search for what is near them.

  • Your display name can be changed only twice every 14 days, so settle it before you save.

  • Instagram search reads words, not emoji. Use emoji as anchors, never as the only words on a line.

  • If one keyword appears 3 or more times across your name and bio, write it more naturally.

  • Keep your handle short and easy to type. Long handles get mistyped and are hard to say out loud.

  • Lead with your strongest keyword. Both readers and search weigh the first line of your bio most.

Checkers by Niche

Same 8 checks, tuned to the words your niche is actually searched with.

I Got Tired of Typing the Same 3 Fixes

Coaches, photographers, food creators: the problems repeated whichever niche I looked at. The display name held no keyword at all. Line one described a mood instead of who the person helped. And there was no clear next step for a visitor who had just found the profile.

So I wrote those corrections down as 8 checks. This tool runs them in your browser, tells you which fix is worth the most points, and moves your score as you type. Nothing you enter is stored or sent to me.

If you would rather read one fix at a time than use a tool, I post the same advice on Instagram.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Instagram bio checker free?

Yes, all of it. There is no paid tier, no trial and no limit on how many times you run a profile through it.

Does my bio get uploaded anywhere?

No. The score is computed in your own browser on your own device. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and there is no account to create.

What do the 8 checks actually measure?

3 search checks cover whether your niche keyword appears in your display name, your bio and your username. 2 limit checks confirm you fit Instagram’s 64-character name and 150-character bio. 3 clarity checks confirm your bio says who you help, offers a call to action, and runs across at least 2 lines.

Does a high score mean I will rank for my keyword?

No. The score grades the text signals Instagram says it uses. Ranking also depends on how often you post, how many people engage with you, and how many other accounts chase the same word.

How often can I change my Instagram display name?

Twice every 14 days. Decide on the keyword you want to be found for before you save, because a second change may cost you the rest of that fortnight.
